他人から選ばれる理由というのは、圧倒的に能力があるからとかじゃないんですよ。その人と一緒に仕事したら楽しいとか、ある場所に呼んだらいいだろうなとか、そういうこと。

それは誰でも開かれているもので、つまり丁寧に生きるということなんです。そこを功利的にやったら駄目で、何十億人という人間の中で出会えた人たちとの一瞬を丁寧に生きるということ。

能力を磨くことは大事です。でも、個性とか強みと呼ばれるものに関しては、自分が思っている以上に世間に優秀な人は多いんです。それだけで競争しても、いつまでたってもコモディティのままで終わる。
