北京でもう一つ驚いたこと。空気が信じられないくらいきれいになっている。北京オリンピックのとき、近くの工場を無理矢理操業停止させたりして、付け焼き刃の空気改善を試みたという話はきいていて、すぐに元に戻ると思っていたんだがその気配がまったくない。
　理由ははっきりしないんだが、一つはバイクがすべて電動車——つまり電動バイク——になっていることかもしれない。普通のバイクはほとんど見かけなかっ た。そこらに結構、露天のバイク修理やもあり、パンク修理とバッテリ交換なんかもやっていて、もう完全に普及している。いまググってみると、もう2000年代前半からずっと積極的に電動バイク普及を進めていたん だね。日本では電気自動車云々と言いつつ、電動バイクの普及は警察がつまらない規制で潰してしまい、電動アシストバイクみたいな潰しのきかない無駄なテク ノロジーにばかり血道をあげているし、今からではもう中国に追いつけないかも。この量産ノウハウが電気自動車にも影響しないわけがないし。スタイルもかな り改善されて、もう普通のバイクと遜色ないし，日本でも中国から輸入販売しているところもある。２ちゃんねるでは、中国はコピーだ技術泥棒だと言って慢心するのが流行りだが、こういうのを見ると中国は着々と実力をつけてきているのがわかる。Seeeduino の開発元の急激な技術成長を見たときにも思ったことだけれど。そして規制の方も、電動バイクの普及を後押しするようにちゃんと整備されて、まともな産業政策とは規制緩和であるというのを地でいくようになっているみたい。大したもんだ。
